Palak Moong Dal Ingredients:
How To Make Palak Moong Dal:One cup split green gram lentil(Moong Dal), Three cups chopped spinach(Palak), Half tbsp turmeric powder(Haldi), One tbsp red Chilli powder, One tbsp asafoetida(Hing), Two tbsps butter, One tbsp chopped garlic, One tbsp chopped Ginger, One tbsp fresh Cream and A pinch of sodium bi carbonate
Washing,soak the gram(moong dal) for about 30 minutes. Boiling some water in a pan,add the spinach leaves and the sodium bi carbonate,cooking the leaves for a minute over a high flame. Draining the leaves, and when cool grind in a blender.Remove and keep aside. Cook the dal,turmeric powder,chilly powder in a pressure cooker.Keep dal aside. Now using a wooden spoon,mash the dal. Now mix the dal and the spinach paste thoroughly. Cooking over a low flame for about five minutes,remove from the flame and keep aside. Melting the butter in a pan,add the garlic and fry till the garlic turns light brown in color. Now adding ginger and asafoetida,fry for a few seconds over a low flame. Finally add the dal and mix thoroughly. Removing from the flame,garnish with the cream and serve hot!
