Palak Moong Dal Recipe

Palak Moong Dal Ingredients:

  • One cup split green gram lentil(Moong Dal),

  • Three cups chopped spinach(Palak),

  • Half tbsp turmeric powder(Haldi),

  • One tbsp red Chilli powder,

  • One tbsp asafoetida(Hing),

  • Two tbsps butter,

  • One tbsp chopped garlic,

  • One tbsp chopped Ginger,

  • One tbsp fresh Cream and

  • A pinch of sodium bi carbonate
  • How To Make Palak Moong Dal:

  • Washing,soak the gram(moong dal) for about 30 minutes.

  • Boiling some water in a pan,add the spinach leaves and the sodium bi carbonate,cooking the leaves for a minute over a high flame.

  • Draining the leaves, and when cool grind in a blender.Remove and keep aside.

  • Cook the dal,turmeric powder,chilly powder in a pressure cooker.Keep dal aside.

  • Now using a wooden spoon,mash the dal.

  • Now mix the dal and the spinach paste thoroughly.

  • Cooking over a low flame for about five minutes,remove from the flame and keep aside.

  • Melting the butter in a pan,add the garlic and fry till the garlic turns light brown in color.

  • Now adding ginger and asafoetida,fry for a few seconds over a low flame.

  • Finally add the dal and mix thoroughly.

  • Removing from the flame,garnish with the cream and serve hot!
