Today lets have look at Methi pulao recipe.
Ingredients:
1.One cup basmati rice,
2.Two medium sliced onions,
3.One cup chopped methi leaves,
4.Two greeen chillies split into two,
5.Half tbsp cumin seeds,
6.Two Bay leaves,
7.Two sticks dalchini,
8.Two big cardomoms,
9.Two-four cloves,
10.One tbsp ginger paste,
11.Half tbsp garlic paste,
12.Half tbsp black pepper powder,
13.Half tbsp garam masala powder,
14.One finely chopped tomato,
15.One cup fresh/frozen green peas,
16.Two tbsp ghee or oil,
17.Fried onion to garnish and
18.Salt to taste
Method:
1.Clean and soak rice for about 30 mins in water.
2.Heat ghee in a pan and add the onions,frying them till they turn golden brown.
3.In a pan heat ghee add all the whole garam masala and let it crackle.Add ginger garlic paste and saute for few seconds.
4.Add green chillies,tomato and onions and fry till they are translucent.
5.Now add chopped methi leaves and fry for another 5 min till you can smell the aroma of methi.
6.Add rice to it frying for about two minutes till a good aroma comes out of it.
7.Now add proportionate water to the above mixture.
8.Add salt,garam masala and black pepper powder and let the mixture boil.
9.Stir casually and cook till all the water evaporates.
10.Garnish with fried onion and serve hot with any curry,kadhi or even raita!
