Cabbage Capsicum Pulao

Cabbage pulao is a delicious south indian dish.So lets get started with this!

Ingredients:

1.200 gms basmati rice soaked in water,

2.One sliced capsicum,

3.100 gms cabbage,

4.Two finely sliced medium sized onions,

5.One tbsp ginger-garlic paste,

6.One tbsp green chilli paste,

7.One-two cardamoms,

8.One-two cloves,

9.Two cinnamons,

10.One bay leaf,

11.150-200 ml coconut milk,

12.Ghee or cooking oil,

13.Freid cashwenutes or other dry fuits for garnishing and

14.Salt to taste

Method:

1.Drain the water off from soaked rice.Fry it until well heated and keep it aside.

2.Heat oil or ghee in the pan.

3.Add sliced onion,sliced capsicum and cook till it becomes light brown.

4.Now add chopped cabbage and cook again for a while.

5.Add all spices and fry for 30 seconds.

6.Add ginger-garlic-green chilli paste and fry well.

7.Now add coconut milk,water and salt bringing it to boil.

8.Add fried basmati rice and cook on a medium flame.

9.It takes about 20-25 minutes till the rice is done.Garnish with fried nuts before serving.Serve hot with any raita,curry or even papad!
