Green-peas Pulao

Mutter/Green peas pulao dish is a great alternative to plain boiled rice and accompaniment for any main course.This basically involves peas as the main ingredient mixed with rice.So lets get started with this!

Ingredients:

1.Two cups of basmati rice,

2.Two cups of green peas/mutter(shells removed),

3.Two medium sized sliced onions,

4.Carrots cut into medium sized pieces

5.One-two Chopped green chillies(take as per taste),

6.One tbsp chopped garlic,

7.One tbsp chopped ginger,

8.One tbsp cumin seeds,

9.Three - five cloves,

10.Two - five cardamom pods,

11.One - two cinnamon sticks,

12.Two tbsps oil or butter and

13.Salt as per taste

Method:

1.Wash and soak the rice for 30 minutes,there by draining off all the water.

2.Heat butter or oil in a pan,fry cumin seeds,cinnamon,cloves,cardamoms for a while until they splutter.

3.Grind the garlic and the ginger to a very fine paste.

4.Add chopped onions,ginger,garlic,green chilies and fry for about 1-2 minutes until they are golden brown.

5.Add the drained rice,peas,carrots and fry till a nice fragrnace oozes out of the mixture.

6.Now add one-two cups of water and let the rice cook properly(Never add more water,if required more water can be added later).

7.Stir gently once in a while so that the rice does not burn at the bottom of the pan.

8.Garnish with the fried onions.

9.Serve with raita or any type of curry!
