Mutter Paneer Recipe

Method:200 gms paneer – cut into 1 inch cubes, One cup shelled peas, Two chopped onions, One tbsp ginger-garlic paste, Two tomatoes – made into a puree, One big elaichi(brown cardamom), Two cloves, Quarter cup whisked smooth curd, One tbsp coriander powder, Half tbsp red chilli powder, Half tbsp turmeric powder, Quarter tbsp amchoor powder(dried mango powder), One tbsp garam masala, Two-three tbsp oil, Half bowl chopped coriander leaves and Salt to taste.
Heating oil in a non-stick pan,tip in the cardamom and cloves. Adding the onion paste,fry till golden brown. Now add the tomato puree and fry till dry. Mix in the coriander powder,amchoor powder,red chilli powder,turmeric powder and garam masala. Reducing the heat,cook this spice blend till oil separates and makes the mixture look glossy. Adding the beaten curd to the spice blend,stir well for five minutes. Pour in about 2-3 cups of water to make a thick gravy. Add salt and cover and cook the gravy for some more time. Adding the peas,cover and cook till the peas are done. Tip in the paneer and garam masala. Cook on low flame till the paneer absorbs the flavour and becomes soft. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot with rotis or steamed rice.
