Dal Makhani

Today we will have a look at Dal Makhani recipe.

Ingredients:

1.One cup whole urad daal,

2.One tbsp red kidney beans(Rajma),

3.One finely chopped onion,

4.One finely chopped tomato,

5.One inch ginger piece,

6.Two-four finely chopped green chillies,

7.Chopped coriander leaves,

8.Four-five flakes garlic paste,

9.Half cup stirred curd,

10.Half cup fresh stirred cream(malai),

11.Two tbsp butter,

12.One tbsp cumin seeds(jeera),

13.Half tbsp turmeric powder,

14.Half tbsp garam masala,

15.Red chilli powder to taste,

16.Half tbsp dhania powder and

17.Salt to taste

Method:

1.Soak rajma in water overnight.

2.Adding water & little salt,pressure-cook rajma and urad daal till soft for about 20-25 minutes.Mash and boil again for 15-20 minutes,adding curd and cream to the dal.

3.Now heating oil,splutter cumin seeds and add garlic paste,fry till light brown. Add onions and fry again till golden brown.

4.Adding ginger,green chillies and tomatoes fry till tomatoes soften.

5.Now adding turmeric powder,chilli powder,dhania powder and salt,fry again for one minute.

6.Adding dal to the above mixture,stir on medium flame.As soon as it starts boiling remove from the gas.

7.Sprinkling garam masala powder,garnish with coriander and add butter.

8.Serve hot with rice,parathas or naan.

That completes dal makhani recipe.Any other method of making the same is welcome.
